Lorcana Set 5: the first previews shaking up the meta

Shimmering Skies, the fifth Lorcana set, arrives in June. Previews are dropping and a few cards are already generating buzz on the forums.

Cards worth watching

Stitch - New Dog returns in a 2-ink version with an ability that lets you draw when one of your characters is challenged. In a meta centered on challenging, this could become a consistent hand engine.

Maleficent - Biding Her Time gets a Legendary version that taxes opponents for playing songs. Potentially very strong against the current Amber-based song decks.

Price impact

Preview cards always generate speculation. On Cardmarket, preorders for revealed Legendaries are sitting around 20-35 euros, which is the typical range for an unreleased set.

Our take: wait for the full release before buying. Legendary prices usually drop 30 to 40 percent in the two weeks after release as the market settles.
